Apparently “American Gods” aired the most hardcore gay sex scene in television history

And it wasn’t between two white guys! Starz’ American Gods featured a gay sex scene between a Muslim man and a “Jinn” (a mythological Arabic genie – it’s a fantasy show) and EVERYBODY’S talking about it. I wasn’t able to find a clip yet, but when I do – I’ll post it.

American Gods is based on the fantasy novel by Neil Gaiman, and has been brought to television by Bryan Fuller. He’s the openly gay showrunner who has put on some of the more groundbreaking television in the past decade, including Dead Like Me, Pushing Up Daisies, and Hannibal.

Queerty:

In Gaiman’s novel, a Muslim man named Salim (Omid Abtahi, Sleeper Cell) immigrates to New York City, where he winds up selling knick-knacks. He meets a Jinn (a spirit in Muslim mythology able to appear in human and animal form) taxi driver, and the two take off to a hotel room to have sex.

Fuller told Vulture that he made them reshoot the scene after he saw the daillies because he didn’t think it was accurate.

When American Gods showrunner Bryan Fuller first saw a cut of the epic gay-sex scene in Sunday’s episode, he didn’t mince words. “I was like, ‘Okay, unless he has a 12-inch, candy-cane cock and can fuck around corners, his dick’s not getting in him,” Fuller recalled. “So you guys need to go back and figure out where holes are.”

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to go sign up for Starz.
