Artist of the week: Future

Future is no stranger to the music scene. The rap mogul can send just about any record up to the top of the charts. He’s had some of the biggest hits in the industry including March Madness, Jumpman, and Turn On The Lights. Just last week the Atlanta native hit us with new music releasing two studio albums including HNDRXX.

On HNDRXX, Future showcases a softer sound and even dips his toes in a low-tempo EDM vibe with Rihanna on the much buzzed about Selfish. On Selfish, Future shows us his vulnerable side by replacing his typical thrashing bass opening with Rihanna’s soft vocals. The raspy-voiced duo mesh extremely well on the softcore EDM beat.

On the same slower tempo sound but this time with Future’s classic diss track lyrics- Comin Out Strong feat. The Weeknd uses softer beats and a ballad style chorus. HNDRXX looks like it could be a new sound experiment for the veteran artist, and perhaps we will see more of it!

A master of putting out complex content in little to no time at all, Future is a studio natural. His latest releases have shown a more in depth Future that we forgot about- check out HNDRXX on Spotify now.
