Every single writer/blogger/opinionate-r who is going to write about this news is going to start their story/post with the following sentence (and so am I). RuPaul’s Drag Race is sashaying away from Logo, and moving to VH-1. What the hell does that mean for Logo? As RuPaul once pointed out, that show pays the damn light bill for the sorta sad network. (As gays more and more become part of the fabric of society, gay-specific things seem to be on the wane. Like television networks. And bars. I’m really going to miss bars.) And Finding Price Charming ain’t gonna pick up the slack, no matter how many crazy canary dudes abound.
Entertainment Weekly (via Queerty) dropped the news today that Ru and her competitors with the appropriate c.u.n.t. (“Charisma, Uniqueness, Nerve, and Talent”) will be serving fish (I know ALL the catchphrases!) on Friday nights on VH-1. The premiere will be on March 24th at 8pm.
Here’s how the fans are feeling:
I'm excited to see #DragRace reach a broader audience on VH1, but really sad to see an LGBTQ+ network like Logo inch closer to extinction. ?

Remember when Ru said drag could never be mainstream yet they dropped logo and gave the rights for drag race to VH1 lol

I can't believe they're moving Drag Race to Friday nights. It's been my Monday night ritual for so many years now. ?
